Help & support
Daily plans your day around your calendar: your workouts, food, to-dos, routines and journal, on iPhone, Mac and Android.
Tell me what you were doing, what you expected and what happened instead. It helps to include your device, its system version, and Daily's version (at the bottom of Daily → Settings). Screenshots are welcome, but please leave out your journal. I usually reply within a few days.
Common questions
How do I get started, or run the setup again?
The first time you open Daily, a short walkthrough asks what you'd like it to plan (training, food, to-dos), your usual day and work hours, and whether to connect health data, calendars, weather and notifications. Every step can be skipped.
To go through it again: Daily → Settings → Run setup again. What you've already set up stays.
iPhone & MacHow do I sync my iPhone and Mac?
Daily syncs through your own iCloud, if you choose to. It asks during setup on each device; to sync:
- Be signed in to the same Apple Account on both.
- Answer Sync with iCloud during setup, or turn on Daily → Settings → iCloud → Sync with iCloud, on each device. On Apple Watch the switch is at the bottom of Daily's screen.
Set up the device you already use first. When a new device turns sync on during setup, Daily looks in iCloud before asking anything else, so your plans and routines come over instead of being set up twice.
Daily 1.0 as first released on the App Store has sync on by default; the setup question comes with the next update.
Changes usually arrive within a minute while Daily is open. Sync now in the same place asks straight away. Apple Health data, calendar events and the forecast don't sync: each device reads those itself.
AndroidDoes Daily sync between phones, or with an iPhone?
Not yet. Daily for Android keeps everything on the phone. If Google backup is on for your phone, Daily's data is in it and comes back when you set up a new Android phone from that backup. Daily on Android can't sync with Daily on iPhone (iCloud is Apple-only).
iPhoneAsking Siri about your day
Say “What's my day in Daily”, “What's my workout in Daily” (or “… tomorrow in Daily”), “What's my next meal in Daily”, “What's next in Daily”, “Add a to-do in Daily” or “Tick something off in Daily”. They also work on iPad and Mac, and are in the Shortcuts app.
For a rundown every morning: in Shortcuts, Automation → New → Alarm → Is Stopped → Daily's Day rundown, set to run without asking. Settings → Siri in Daily has the same steps.
AndroidAsking Gemini about your day
On Android 16 and later, Gemini can ask Daily about your day, your workout and your next meal, add to-dos and tick routines off: try “What's my day in Daily?”. Google is opening this to apps gradually, so Gemini may not offer it on your phone yet.
Gemini runs in Google's cloud, so Daily's answer goes to Google; it never includes your Health Connect data or your journal. See the privacy policy.
iPhone & Apple WatchWorkouts or sleep from Apple Health aren't ticking off
- Check Daily can read them: open the Health app, tap your profile picture → Apps → Daily, and turn on the types you want (workouts, sleep, water…). iPhone doesn't tell apps when reading is refused, so it looks like there's simply no data.
- A workout ticks a session when it's one of the kinds that session accepts and covers at least half its planned minutes. Until then, the session shows how far along it is, like "10 of 30 min so far". Change the kind in Plan → Training → the session → Counts when Health records.
- If you untick something Health ticked, Daily leaves it unticked.
Each device reads Health for itself, and nothing from Health is synced. On Apple Watch, tap Connect Apple Health on Daily's screen once. The Mac has no Health data, so on a Mac these come from what you tick.
AndroidWorkouts, sleep or steps from Health Connect aren't showing
- Open Health Connect (in your phone's Settings, search "Health Connect") → App permissions → Daily, and allow the types you want.
- Your watch or fitness app also needs to write to Health Connect: check that app's own Health Connect permissions.
- A workout ticks a session when it's one of the kinds that session accepts and covers at least half its planned minutes. Until then, the session shows how far along it is, like "10 of 30 min so far". Change the kind in Plan → Training → the session → Counts when recorded.
Log Water says Daily isn't allowed to save water
Log Water saves each glass to Apple Health or Health Connect, so it needs permission to write water (the only thing Daily writes). Give it in Daily's Settings → Allow Log Water to save to Health, or:
- iPhone the Health app → your profile picture → Apps → Daily → turn on Water under "Allow Daily to write".
- Android Health Connect → App permissions → Daily → allow writing Hydration.
Tapped the wrong amount? Tap Log again and choose Take back. The Mac has no Health, so Log Water isn't there.
My calendar events don't appear
iPhone & MacAllow full access: on iPhone, Settings → Apps → Daily → Calendars → Full Access; on Mac, System Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars → Daily.
AndroidLong-press Daily's icon → App info → Permissions → Calendar → Allow.
Then in Daily → Settings → Calendars, check Show on my day is on for that calendar. Daily only reads calendars; it never changes them.
Why did my workout move to another time?
Daily places each session at your usual time (or its own), then moves it to the nearest free time if something is in the way: work hours, busy events on calendars marked Moves my workouts, and, for outdoor sessions, darkness, rain or heat. It stays between your earliest and latest start.
Change these in Daily → Settings → Your day, Work and Calendars, or give a session its own start time in Plan → Training.
The weather isn't showing
Type your ZIP code in Daily → Settings → Weather. The forecast comes from the US National Weather Service, so it works for US ZIP codes only. Daily never uses your location.
I'm not getting notifications
Turn them on in Daily → Settings → Notifications, then check the kinds you want are switched on there (morning brief, before each workout, evening nudge, to-dos with a time).
iPhone & MacIf they're still missing, check Settings → Notifications → Daily (System Settings on a Mac), and that a Focus isn't holding them.
AndroidCheck App info → Notifications. For reminders right on the minute, also allow App info → Alarms & reminders; without it Android may deliver them a few minutes late. Some phones' battery savers also delay them.
Notifications are worked out on your device for the week ahead, and refreshed whenever you open Daily.
How is my journal kept private?
The journal locks whenever you leave Daily and opens with Face ID, Touch ID, your fingerprint or your screen lock. It never appears in notifications. On iPhone, iPad and Mac it syncs only through your own iCloud, end-to-end encrypted, and only if iCloud sync is on. On Android it stays on the phone (and in your phone's own encrypted backup, if that's on). If your device has no passcode or screen lock, the journal can't be locked.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting Daily removes everything it saved on that device.
iPhone, iPad & MacTo remove the iCloud copy too: Daily → Settings → iCloud → Delete Daily's data from iCloud. Your devices keep their own copies and stop syncing; to start completely fresh, delete Daily from your other devices first, then use the button on one device.
I don't hold a copy of anything, so there's nothing to delete on my side. Details are in the privacy policy.
Can I ask for a feature?
Yes, please: [email protected]. Daily is made by one person, and every idea is read.
